I've just completed a three-month artist residency at Sunday Morning@EKWC - a Dutch centre for excellence in digital fabrication and ceramics.
I went to the centre with the intention of learning new processes so I could make more refined sculptures, but had no idea about the possibilities and limitations of clay or how sensitive it is to external factors. I now have a deeper respect for this material - which, after all, comes from the Earth and has a life force of its own!
I'm very fortunate to have worked alongside such talented artists and with such knowledgeable and lighthearted technicians during my time there. I would like to thank Sundaymorning@ekwc, Fablab at EKWC, Arts Queensland and the Copyright Agency for their generous support, which made it possible for me to undertake the residency.
