Dust. Ashes. is a selection of new porcelain works and is on show at artisan until 10 July. These works are the result of my recent residency at Sunday Morning@EKWC in Holland, and mark a new direction in my practice. The title of the exhibition refers to the craft of ceramics. ‘Dust’ alludes to the material of clay, refined in riverbeds over thousands of years and combined with bone, and ‘Ashes’ refers to the firing process. These pieces continue my exploration of reflected light and shadow, illusion and perception, surface and depth.
